$10,000 worth of damage done at Boys and Girls Club

At least $10,000 worth of damage was done this past week to the Boys and Girls Club in Abbeville.

According to Abbeville Police Detective R.J. Thibodeaux, someone broke into the club, which is located at A.A. Comeaux Park, Wednesday night.

In about 45 minutes, this individual broke windows, seven new laptop computers, along with desk top computers. The person also broke a foosball table, along with pool sticks, vending machines and sprayed paint throughout the art building. The person threw rocks and broke the two windows above the gym floor.

This individual broke into the newly created laptop room and then went cubical to cubical throwing each computer on the floor and smashing them.

Thibodeaux said the police have finger prints and DNA samples and have a suspect in mind. The suspect is a juvenile, he added.
