1st Annual Frog Capital Classic Car/Hot Rod Show held
The Rayne Frog Association presented the 1st Annual Frog Capital Classic Car & Hot Rod Show on June 1-2, 2013, on the Frog Festival grounds.
Attractions during the two-day event included music, beverages, camping, fun jumps for the kids, and great food.
In addition, an appreciation dinner and dance for registered car owners and guests was held Saturday evening.
“We had a really good turn out for our first show,” stated chairman Stuart Broussard of the Frog Capital Classic Car and Hot Rod Show organization. “We had some top-notch entries and I think everyone enjoyed the weekend. Can’t ask for more than that.”
The following categories were judged: Best of Show, Best Engine, Best Interior, Best Paint, Mayor’s Choice, Sponsor’s Choice, and Top 50.
Top awards as anounced by chairman Stuart Broussard were presented to:
Mayor’s Choice: Larry Menard with 1955 Chevrolet Belaire;
Best of Show: John Renard with 1955 Chevy Belaire;
Best Paint: John Lewis with 2008 Suzuki HB;
Best Engine: Lloyd Courvelle with 2007 Chevy Corvette;
Best Interior: Byron Brasseaux with 1968 Chevy Cheville;
People’s Choice: Tommy Salinas with
1972 Chevy El Camino.
A total of 74 vehicles, both classic and sporty that span almost 100 years in production dates, entered the car show. All proceeds will benefit the Healing House Foundation.
