2008 Iota Homecoming court

IOTA – Iota High School is celebrating its 2008 homecoming this week, with different events planned throughout the week, such as a parade, and dress up days.

As tradition holds, a Homecoming Court was chosen, consisting of ten senior girls who will vie for the title of Homecoming Queen in Friday night’s football game. The Bulldogs will host the Pickering Red Devils.

Ms. Lauren Alyse Dupre is the daughter of Ray and Tracie Dupre. Lauren has been a member of the Beta Club and FBLA for three years. She has placed in the national conference this past summer in Atlanta, Georgia, representing Iota High as a member of the Desktop Publishing Team. She has also attended the district literacy rally for three years and the state rally for two.

Lauren is also an active two year member of the Lady Dogs softball team, and a four year member of the volleyball and track teams. She has plans to attend Louisiana State University of Eunice and the University of Louisiana, majoring in Accounting.

Ms. Andrea Morgan Fontenot is the daughter of Cornell and Cindy Fontenot. Andrea has served as class vice-president for two years, FBLA for three years, Beta Club for two years, and has also been a member of the art and yearbook staff for one year. She has also been an active member in 4-H, where she currently serves as President. She currently serves as a two year varsity cheerleader.

Andrea has volunteered at the Summer Joy Days for St. Augustine Catholic Church for two years, and this summer she attended a Day with the Doctors at LSU Medical Center in New Orleans.

After graduation, Andrea plans to attend Louisiana State University at Eunice to pursue a career in the medical field.

Ms. Rikki Marie Gaspard is the daughter of Floyd and Denise Gaspard. Rikki has been a class officer for three years, and is the current spirit captain for her senior class. She has been a member of the tennis team for one year and the varsity cheerleading squad for two years.

Rikki has plans after graduation to attend the University of Louisiana, majoring in mechanical engineering.

Ms. Ariel Maria-Elizabeth Gotte is the daughter of Marlene and Bobbie Gotte. She has served as class president her sophomore year, been a member of the Art Club for four years and is its current president. Ariel is currently a member of the Acadia Parish Talented Arts Program. She has also been a member of the Lady Dog softball and volleyball teams for three years. Ariel plans on attending Louisiana State University at Eunice after graduation majoring in social studies education.

Ms. Chelsea Paige Guidry is the daughter of Darin and Charmaine Guidry. She has been a member of FBLA for three years and has served as the Lady Dogs’ volleyball and basketball manager for three years. After graduation, Chelsea plans on pursuing a career in cosmetology.

Ms. Greta Christine Lege’ is the daughter of Neal and Lisa Lege’. She has been a varsity cheerleader for the last four years and is the squad’s current co-captain. She will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. Greta is also an active member of the St. Joseph Youth Group. After graduation, Greta plans to attend McNeese State University, majoring in biology.

Ms. Erin Louise Leger is the daughter of Marlene and Charles Leger. She has served as her classes’ secretary for the last four years, as a member of the Renaissance Club for one year, student council for three years and is the current vice-president. She has been a member of the Lady Dog track team for one year, softball for three years and a varsity cheerleader for four years, where she currently serves as captain. Erin is an active member of the Saint Joseph Youth Group. She has plans to attend McNeese State University, majoring in pre-law after graduation.

Ms. April Alexandra Reed is the daughter of Bradley and Jackie Reed. She has served her class as treasurer for the last four years. April has been a member of the Beta Club for three years and a member of the Lady Dog softball team for four years and volleyball for three years, where she serves as captain. After graduation, April plans to attend McNeese State University, majoring in the health field.

Ms. Erin Paige Sattler is the daughter of Ricky and Janet Sattler. She has been a member of Beta Club for three years and student council for four years. She has also been a member of the tennis team for three years. Erin will graduate as a member of the Iota High Honors Program. She plans to attend the Louisiana State University at Eunice, majoring in dental hygiene.

Ms. Carlie Blythe Thevis is the daughter of Wayne and Rosie Thevis. She has been a class officer for three years and is the current spirit captain. She has also been a member of Beta Club for two years and 4-H for one year. Charlie has been a member of the Lady Dog softball team for four years and made all-district for two years. She is also a member of St. Joseph Youth Group. After graduation, Carlie plans to attend McNeese State University pursuing a career in nursing.
