2013 Miss Merry Christmas Contestants Announced

 

This Thursday, Nov. 21, will see the crowning of Crowley’s new Miss Merry Christmas at the Rice Festival Building in Crowley.

The pageant, sponsored by the Eta Kappa Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, begins at 7 p.m., and tickets for the event are $3 for adults and $1 for children.

The event will include concessions, a visit from Santa Claus and entertainment by Brenda Core School of Dance and the Redemptorist Catholic Bell Choir. 

In addition, chances to win a giant Christmas stocking will be sold for $1, with all proceeds going to Miss Helen’s Soup Kitchen.

This year’s contestants for the title of Miss Merry Christmas include:

Haydyn Claire Schexnayder, 6, is the daughter of Kacie and Barrett Schexnayder and is a student at Egan Elementary. Her hobbies include gymnastics, painting and playing outside, and she enjoys collecting feathers and rocks. She would like to be a gymnastics teacher one day.

Gracee Gail Sargee, 7, who attends South Crowley Elementary, is the daughter of Jennifer Myers Sargee and Alex Sargee. She enjoys singing and dancing and collects horses and panda bears. It is her goal to be a zoologist.

Addison Grace Brignac, 6, is a student at St. Francis Elementary and the daughter of Lannie and Mike Brignac. She collects stuffed animals and enjoys dancing and hunting in her spare time. When she grows up, she hopes to be a pop star and cowgirl.

Isabella C. Campbell, 6, is a student at North Crowley Elementary, and her parents are Terri and Brent Campbell. She loves tumbling and drawing and collects box tops for her school. Her career goal is to become a nurse.

Amalie Marie Lormand, 6, the daughter of Regan and Blaine Lormand, attends St. Michael Elementary. She collects pencils and in her free time she enjoys riding her bike and playing with her brothers. She wants to be a chef one day.

Mary Elizabeth Gattle, 6, is the daughter of Kim Gattle and Thomas M. Gattle III and is a student at St. Michael Elementary. She enjoys English horse riding and collecting Madame Alexander and American Girl dolls. It is her goal to become a veterinarian.

Ahna Jolie Fontenot, 6, who attends Redemptorist Catholic Elementary, is the daughter of Lynette and Brian Fontenot. She enjoys reading, writing stories, painting and singing karaoke, and she wants to be a lifeguard one day.

Kylinn Marie Dupuis, 7, the daughter of Kyla and Malcom Dupuis, is a student at Mermentau Elementary. She collects seashells, school papers and stuffed animals and enjoys reading, singing, dancing, coloring and playing outside. Her career goal is fashion modeling.

Paisley Alyse Vincent, 6, a student at Redemptorist Catholic Elementary, is the daughter of Heidi and Nick Vincent. Her hobbies include softball, gymnastics, riding her bike and four-wheeler and collecting sea shells. She plans to become a veterinarian.

Shailee Claire Trahan, 7, attends South Crowley Elementary and is the daughter of Nancy and Scotty Trahan. Her hobbies include dancing and reading and she collects Barbie dolls. She wants to be a baker when she grows up.

Timira Gracie Welch, 6, is a student at South Crowley Elementary. Her parents are Mirinda Aguillard and Tim Welch. She enjoys doing art projects and collects stuffed animals.

Mia Guillot, 6, the daughter of Jessica and Benji Guillot, attends St. Michael Elementary. In her spare time she enjoys gymnastics, dancing, riding her bike and doing art projects, and she likes collecting American Girl dolls. Mia plans to become a doctor when she grows up.

Devyn Grace Quirk, 6, is the daughter of Joellan and Josh Quirk and she attends Iota Elementary. Her hobbies include cheering and dancing, and she collects Barbie dolls and jewelry. She plans to become a New Orleans Saints Saintsation Dancer.

Raelen Sha’Ray DeJean, 6, at student at South Crowley Elementary, is the daughter of Tiffany Jason and Ryan DeJean. She collects bracelets, slippers, rings and purses, and in her spare time she enjoys playing outside, dancing and riding her bike. Her current career goal is to become a doctor.

Nevaeh Hanks, 7, attends North Crowley Elementary, and her parents are Heather and Jeremy Hanks. She collects Barbie dolls and likes riding her bike and playing with her friends. She wants to be a teacher when she grows up.

Alainah Celeste Perrodin, 6, the daughter of Misty and Ronald Perrodin Jr., is a student at South Crowley Elementary. Her hobbies include playing with her dolls, drawing and coloring, and she collects Journey girl dolls, Build-a-Bears and Legos. She plans to be a teacher one day.

Madeline Grace Kibodeaux, 7, is a student at Redemptorist Catholic Elementary and the daughter of Michelle and James Kibodeaux. She enjoys playing with her cats and dogs, playing with her friends and cooking. She intends to pursue a career as a veterinarian.

Kylee Abshire, 6, the daughter of Lacey and Anthony Abshire, attends South Crowley Elementary. She collects rocks, ponies and horses, and in her spare time she enjoys coloring, playing with her sisters and cousins and playing sports. When she grows up she would like to be ride and race horses.

Gretta Katherine LeJeune, 6, attends St. Francis Elementary, and her parents are Kelli and Ross LeJeune. Her hobbies include gymnastics, roller skating and playing with her dog Jake, and she plans to be a teacher when she grows up.

Jaylyn Claire Guidry, 6, is the daughter of Jaime and Joey Guidry and attends South Crowley Elementary. She enjoys playing with her little sister, playing outside and riding four-wheelers, and she collects hair bows and anything Hello Kitty. Her career goal is to become a teacher.

Anne Cecilia Dupre, 6, the daughter of Amanda and Adam Dupre, is a student at St. Michael Elementary. She collects feathers, rocks and other treasures, and in her spare time she likes dancing, playing dress-up and playing volleyball with her big sister. She plans to become a pop star princess.

Lucy Chisholm, 6, is a student at Redemptorist Catholic Elementary, and her parents are Georgia and Kurt Chisholm. Her hobbies include gymnastics and playing soccer, and she collects My Little Pony dolls. Her career goal is to become a veterinarian.

Jordyn Elizabeth Gibson, 6, a student at South Crowley Elementary, is the daughter of Jammie Gibson and Jared Abshire, and Brooke Melancon and Joshua Gibson. She collects toy horses and sea shells, and she enjoys gymnastics and taking care of her horses and other pets. When she grows up she would like to be a zookeeper or veterinarian.

Ava Claire Arceneaux, 7, attends St. Michael Elementary and is the daughter of Allison and Timmy Arceneaux. Her hobbies include playing with her brother and sister and deer hunting with her dad, and she plans to become a country music singer one day.
