77th International Rice Festival
Crowley's biggest event is set to once again take over the city beginning Thursday, Oct. 17, in the evening and through Family Day, Sunday, Oct. 20.
Highlights of the festival include the Junior King and Queen's Contest and the Children's Parade, with Dolores Nutt as parade marshal, on Friday, Oct. 18; and the Queen's Contest and Grand Parade, with Rep. Jack Montoucet as grand marshal, on Saturday, Oct. 19.
Other events include the rice cookery contest and naming of Chef Du Riz; loads of entertainment, headlined by Neal McCoy this year; great food and this year, an appearance by the Southern Marching Band during the Grand Parade.
The city of Crowley welcomes all to come enjoy the fun, and, remember entry to the festival is free, so remember to buy a few wares at the festival to support it.
