Acadia Parish joining state in annual Voter Registration Week
BATON ROUGE – Secretary of State Tom Schedler and teh state’s registrar of voters are conducting Louisiana’s annual Voter Registration Week this week.
Secretary Schedler is encouraging all Louisiana residents 17 years old or older who are not registered to vote to take advantage of this opportunity.
Registrars of voters throughout the state will host event s during the week to register citizens to vote. In addition, registrars and their staff members will educate residents about the elections process in general including information of this fall’s elections. The deadline to register for the Nov. 6 congressional and presidential open primary is Tuesday, Oct. 9.
In addition to the week’s activities, citizens can always register to vote online at www.geauxvote.com; at the parish registrar of voters office, located at 568 NW Court Circle in Crowley; while obtaining services at the Office of Motor Vehicles, public assitance agencies, public schools, colleges and libraries; or by mail.

Tuesday, May 15, Acadia Parish Public Library, located at 1125 N. Parkerson Ave. in Crowley, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Wednesday, May 16, Rayne City Hall, located at 801 The Blvd. in Rayne, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thursday, May 17, Church Point City Hall, located at 102 Church St. in Church Point, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Friday, May 18, Crowley City Hall, located at 425 N. Parkerson Ave. in Crowley, 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
