Acadia Parish teams fare well at cross country state championships
NATCHITOCHES – Crowley High senior Trey Foreman ran a season best 17:01.67 Tuesday afternoon to place fifth at the Class 3A Cross Country Championships at Northwestern State University.
Foreman’s finish was the highest by a Crowley High athlete in recent history.
CHS’ second highest finisher, Keelyn Vallier, ran the three-mile course in 19:15.22 and finished No. 52 in the field of 111 runners.
Notre Dame’s highest finisher was Brent Didier (95) with a time of 22:03.13.
On the girls’ side, Notre Dame’s Aline Gossen ran a 21.23.13 to finish at No. 13 in the field of 81 participants.
Crowley’s High’s top performer on the girls’ side was Olivia Boullion, who placed 28th with a time of 22.22.78.
The Midland Rebels had seven runners finish in the Top 50 and finished fifth in the team standings Monday at the Class B Cross Country State Championships.
Floyd Baker led the Rebels with a 24th place finish in a time of 18:37.11. Alan Vondenstein followed with a time of 18:46.21 and Jake Gautreaux finished in 18:47.23. Darren Arceneaux, Steven Primeaux, Devin Gautreaux and Randy Primeaux rounded out the scoring for the Rebels.
In girls’ action, the Lady Rebels placed eighth as a team behind strong finishes from Katelyn Woods, Kristen Breaux, Bethany LeJeune, Ariel Pousson, Elizabeth Istre, Brooke Comeaux and Brittney Perrodin.
Woods was the highest finisher for the Lady Rebels, coming in at No. 18 with a time of 22:09.26.
