Acadiana Area Activity and Resource Center takes part in ‘Night of Arts’
The Acadiana Area Activity and Resource Center in Crowley took part in the Night of Arts Saturday, April 4th.
In conjunction with
the Crowley Arts Associations showing of the Juanita Morrow show “The Women of Acadiana” and wonderful music at The Opera House.
The Acadia Activity Center was blessed with a showing by upcoming artist Jacob Clostio.
At times during the night the little pink house at 1314 Pakerson rocked with a standing room only crowd of local area writers and artists who had come to see the first one man show by this nonconformist artist entitled “A Show By Jacob Clostio”.
This young artist doesn’t follow the rules set forth by the art world and does his own thing and has a fresh look on all subjects. From not centering a specimen work in the center of the page to running a work completely off a page, he does it his own way.
No one was more surprised with the success of the show than the humble artist himself as he was heard at installation time saying, “Ya’ll think anyone will buy my stuff ?”.
It didn’t take long before this soft spoken young artist got his answer as his prints priced at $5 and $10 flew off the shelves and even selling out of a few of the designs.
You can still view the remaining art from the show Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Acadiana Area Activity center located at 1314 Parkerson Avenue. All prints are still available for purchase so pick up one for yourself while they last.
Two additional shows are in the works in the Crowley area with details to be announced at a later date.
