Arnaudville – Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2008, at a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Regis Catholic Church for Ada Taylor, 92, the former Ada LeBlanc, who passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008, at 4:13 p.m. at Opelousas General Hospital in Opelousas.
Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery. The Rev. Keenan Brown, pastor of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church, will officiate at the services.
Musical selections will be provided by Valerie Andrus. The songs will be The Old Rugged Cross, Amazing Grace, Just A Closer Walk With Thee, J’Irai La Voir Un Jour, Notre Pere and Ave Maria.
Ada was a native of Arnaudville and a resident of the Port Barre area for most of her life. She resided with her son for the last five years and had been living at J. Michael Morrow Nursing Home at the time of her death. Ada was a parishioner of St. Francis Regis Catholic Church.
Survivors include one son, Douglas Taylor and his wife Charlotte of Lafayette; two daughters, Earline Pourciau and her husband Curtis of Livonia, and Gayneal Robin and her husband Chester of Arnaudville; two brothers, James LeBlanc of Port Barre and Harris Leblanc and his wife Lula Mae of Livonia; one sister, Thelma L. Dore of St. Martinville; seven grandchildren, Gwen Partridge of Port Allen, Shannon Mc Morris and her husband Mike of Denham Springs, Kirt Pourciau and his wife Katharine of Livonia, Maria Paige Billeaud and her husband David of Broussard, Charmaine Rodriguez and her husband Patrick of New Iberia, Denise Jarreau and her husband Timmy of Denham Springs, and Corey Robin of Carencro; and six great-grandchildren, Nicole Mc Morris, Devyn Pourciau, Karlie Pourciau, Bryce Patrick Rodriguez, Emily Dawn Rodriguez, Maria Nicole Billeaud and Lauren Anne Billeaud.
She was preceded in death by her husband of f41 years, Rodolph Taylor; her parents, Tilus LeBlanc and her mother, the former Ophelia Angelle, both natives of Arnaudville; one brother, Octave LeBlanc; and five sisters, Eugenia L. Schexnayder, Lillian L. Morris, Lelia L. Mora, Bertha L. Moran and Media LeBlanc.
A rosary was prayed at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 8 a.m. until service time on Wednesday.
Pallbearers will be Kirt Pourciau, Corey Robin, Devyn Pourciau, Bryce Rodriguez, Mike McMorris and David Billeaud. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Hebert, Tim Jarreau and Patrick Rodriguez.
