Afternoon bridal courtesy honors Jerrilynn Ashley Jones
The Rayne Civic Center Green Room served as the setting on June 22 for an afternoon bridal shower held in honor of Jerrilynn Ashley Jones of Pasadena, Texas, bride-elect of Shawn Michael Primeaux of Lafayette.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Steven and Margaret Jones of Rayne.
The prospective groom is the son of Michael and Karen Primeaux of Crowley.
Serving as hostesses for the 2 p.m. courtesy were Lorraine Breaux, Darlene Cryer, Kim Cummins, Jill Doga, Charlotte Doucet, Katie Lopez, Sadie Lopez, Monica Mire, Lula Mae Reed, Linda Stemplewski, Lauren Touchet, Charlotte Doucet and Agnes Jones.
Guests were served a variety of refreshments including sandwiches, seafood, spinach and broccoli dips, meatballs, petit fours, cookies, coffee, punch, and a Bavarian creme cake, a creation by Daisy Cakes, which served as the floral centerpiece.
Decorations noted throughout the reception hall included the use of the bride’s chosen colors, candy apple red and silver. This color scheme could be seen in the display of candles, floral arrangements and floating candle centerpiece vases on the guest tables.
The registration table with a special handmade table covering served as the central display area for a beautiful floral arrangement and portrait of the couple.
For the special occasion, the honoree wore a black and white sundress enhanced with a shoulder corsage of miniature red roses.
The honoree’s mother wore a champagne-colored shantung silk suit with a coordinating corsage of miniature red roses.
Mother of the prospective groom selected a black, tea-length dress with a black-on-black print jacket and coordinating corsage of miniature red roses.
Guests attended the pre-nuptial event from Rayne, Jennings, Crowley, Lake Arthur, Iota, Egan, Roberts Cove, Youngsville, Lake Charles, Baton Rouge and Clear Lake, Texas.
Special guests in attendance were Ethel Stelly, honoree’s maternal grandmother; Rena Bertrand, maternal grandmother of the prospective groom; Edia Primeaux, paternal grandmother of the prospective groom; Darlene Cryer, honoree’s godmother; and Kathy Comeaux, godmother of the prospective groom.
The couple will be married on Saturday, August 23, during a 7 p.m. ceremony at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, followed by a reception at Keith’s The Ballroom in Lafayette.
