Afternoon bridal shower honors Ashley Habetz
The Maison d’Memoire Reception Center in Rayne served as the unique setting on Saturday, Sept. 26, for a bridal shower held in honor of Ashley Aline Habetz of Rayne, bride-elect of Craig Ellis Martin of Lake Arthur
The bride-elect is the daughter of the late Henry and Laura Sonnier Habetz of Rayne.
The prospective groom is the son of Allen and Carleen Martin Ballenger of Lake Arthur.
Hosting the afternoon courtesy were Diane Sonnier, Adrianne Sonnier, Simone Hooper, Linda Alleman, Emily Doga, Dawn Alleman, Shawon Doguet, Candace Ballenger, Giselle Habetz, Henrietta Habetz, Pauline Habetz, Claire Habetz, Lucille Borne and Cathy O’Conner.
Guests were served a variety of refreshments, including pasta salad, layered pea salad, vegetable tray, artichoke dip, Mexican dip, chocolate covered strawberries, banana pudding, cake, punch, soft drinks and coffee.
Guest tables were covered with gold linens and topped with sunflowers in crystal bud vases. The gift table held a fall floral arrangement and guest book.
The cake table held a fall flower arrangement in a crystal container, highlighting the confection, a strawberry and cream cheese cake covered with chocolate buttercream icing.
For the special occasion, the honoree wore a sleeveless black dress with rouching at the empire waist that fell to the knee in length. She was presented a fall corsage of mums created by the bride’s aunt, Dianne Sonnier.
Approximately 40 family members and guests attended from Rayne, Crowley, Lake Arthur, Baton Rouge, Lafayette and Texas.
Ashley and Craig will be married on Friday, Oct. 23, 2009 during a 7 p.m. ceremony at St. Leo Catholic Church in Roberts Cove, followed by a reception at the church hall.
