Afternoon bridal shower honors Erin Leigh Cart
A bridal shower honoring Erin Leigh Cart of Iota, bride-elect of Blake Anthony Cuccio of Crowley, was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2009. Craven Crawfish in Crowley provided the setting for the special occasion.
The bride-to-be is the daugher of Sheila Cart of Iota and the late Stanley Cart. She is the granddaughter of Harvey and Anna Hebert of Egan and Robert Cart of Iota and the late Marja Cart.
The groom-elect is the son of Christopher and Janet Cuccio of Rayne. He is the grandson of Eunice Guidry of Rayne and the late August Guidry and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Cuccio of Crowley and JoAnn Huval of Broussard.
For her special day the honoree was attired in a black A-line, knee-length dress accented with cap sleeves. She was presented with a corsage of soft pink roses and baby’s breath.
The honoree’s mother was lovely in grey pinstriped slacks topped with a soft teal blouse featuring a V-neck and three-quartered-length sleeves while the mother of the groom was radiant in black slacks with a black turtleneck blouse. Her ensemble was completed with a waist-length black and white hounds-tooth style jacket. Both mothers were presented with a corsage of white roses and baby’s breath accents.
Serving as hostesses were Shelley Frey, Jenny Prevost, Erin Hawkins, Ashley Cuccio, Caroline Frey, Richelle Frey, Cindy Roy, Tiffany Droddy, Danielle Hofmeister, Nelda Thibodeaux, Chasity Fontenot, Hanna LeJeune, Alisha Thibodeaux, Sarah Cart and Karen Cupper.
The event’s decor consisted of candle-filled globes atop the tables and flowers throughout the room. The registration table held three photos of the engaged couple.
Among the many delicious refreshments served was the focal cake enveloped in ivory and white icing with the initials of thecouple adorning the top. The delicacy contained a white chocolate and strawberry amatetto filling and was served along with coffee.
The party accommodated approximately 80 guests with out-of-towners traveling from Texas, Florida and various points in Louisiana.
Honored as special guests were Anna Hebert, grandmother of the bride-elect; JoAnn Huval, grandmother of the prospective groom; and honorably mentioned was Eunice Guidry, grandmother of the prospective groom; who was unable to attend. Also present was Cindy Roy of Iota, godmother of the honoree; and Jackie Abshire, godmother of the groom-elect of Milton, Florida.
The couple has plans to wed during a 6:30 p.m. ceremony on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at the Wolff Ballrooom in Washington, Louisiana. The Reverand Randy Trahan will officiate the exchanging of their nuptial vows.
