Afternoon bridal tea honors Lesli Ann Istre
Lesli Ann Istre, bride-elect of Christopher Thomas Nelson, was honored during a bridal tea held Saturday, Feb. 27, 2010 at the home of Roxie Viator in Morse, aunt of the bride-elect.
Miss Istre is the daughter of Mike and Brenda Istre of Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of the Rayne-Crowley area.
The prospective groom is the son of Kay Nelson and the late Lewis B. Nelson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., formerly of Slidell.
Hosting the afternoon courtesy were Jeannie H. Petitjean, godmother of the bride-elect; Roxie Vaitor, Lynette Frederick, Marge Henry and Lou Trahan, aunts of the bride-elect.
The Viator home was decorated with a bridal tea theme as the front door was framed with pink and green tulle and large cutout spring flowers in vibrant shades of yellow, aqua and fuschia.
Guests gathered in the large kitchen and sitting area before treated to a late lunch of crawfish fettucine and garlic bread. Also served were crab dip, broccoli dip, vegetable tray, brownies and cookies.
For the special occasion, Miss Istre selected a knee-length dress featuring three-quarter length sleeves and designed in a geometric print of turquoise, navy, hot pink and ivory.
The bride-elect’s mother wore a sleeveless sheath in colors of purple, bone and cream gathered at the waist with a brown belt.
The prospective groom’s mother selected a hip-length jacket of black and gray houndstooth over a black turtleneck shirt and black slacks.
Approximately 50 guests were in attendance from numerous points of Louisiana, in addition to Dallas and Houston, Texas; Jacksonville, Fla.; Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, Ala..
The engaged couple will be married on Saturday, April 17, 2010, during a 7:30 p.m. ceremony at Christ the King Catholic Church in Dallas, Texas, followed by a reception at Westin Park Central in Dallas, Texas.
