AG Caldwell, BP’s Feinberg discuss claims process

KENNER - Attorney General Buddy Caldwell met with Ken Feinberg, administrator of the new BP claims process, in Kenner last week to discuss the new claims process.

“I believe my meeting with Mr. Feinberg was extremely productive,” Caldwell stated. “The process laid out by Mr. Feinberg is much improved. We will continue to give suggestions to him on how things can be improved as the process goes forward and experience with the process reveals any needed changes,” Caldwell added.

Individual and business claims previously filed with the BP Claims Process related to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico are transitioning on August 23 to the new Gulf Coast Claims Facility (GCCF), administered by Feinberg, for review, evaluation and determination.

Effective August 23, 2010, to file a claim, you can do one of the following:

· Access the GCCF website at

· Call the toll-free number 1(800) 916-4893 to receive a copy of the claim form by U.S. Mail (TTY: 1 (866) 682-1758).

· Visit one of the GCCF Claims Site Offices, locations of which can be found at the above web site.
