Alberta was born on August 30, 1935 in Indian Bayou, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette for most of her life. "Mama Baer", as she was affectionately known to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, found great joy in dancing, peace in her garden, contentment in a good book, and humor in everyday life. She was smarter than she would admit, stronger than she realized, and braver than anyone knew, a noble heart that will live on in the memories of her family and friends for years to come.
Pallbearers will be Neil Simon, Phil B. Baer, Lance LeBlanc, Ben LeBlanc, Zachary Adams and Todd Drobish.
A Rosary will be recited by Geneva Breaux on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 7:00 PM in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location.
The family requests that visitation be observed on Tuesday from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will continue on Wednesday from 8:00 AM until time of services.
The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses and staff of Hospice of Acadiana, especially Iggy Landry and Rose Lilly, for the kindness, compassion and gentle care given to "Mama Baer" and her family during their time of need.
