All-Star game slated for Crowley
CROWLEY – Some of Louisiana’s top senior basketball players will be in Crowley Saturday, April 10 to take part in the 22nd Annual USA High School Basketball All-Star Classic at the Crowley Middle School.
The event is being sponsored by the Larry Guidry Educational-Sports Center and Southwest Louisiana Hoops and will consist of a girl’s and boy’s All-Star game as well as 3-point and slam dunk contests.
Locals players slated to participate in the boy’s game include Crowley’s Michael Harmon and Therion Beverly, Midland’s Miles Prejean and B.J. Cormier and Notre Dame’s Morgan Allen.
Other notables scheduled to participate include Cecilia’s Donavan Williams, Abbeville’s Keelon Lee, Rapides’ C.J. Johnson, Vidalia’s Torrey Dixon and Quantrell Thomas, Peabody’s Shontorian Lowe, Richwood’s Ladarrin Williams, Carrol’s Josh Tarver and Perry Home, Centerville’s T.J. Kemp and St. Thomas More’s Xavier Blackburn and Will Norman.
Church Point’s Deniseo and Jalisa Citizen as well as Notre Dame’s Celia Charles will play in the girl’s game.
Also participating on the girls side will be Cecilia’s Natasha Wiltz and Bianca Davis, Lake Arthur’s Sadie Woods, Oakdale’s Netanya Jones, Washington Marion’s Karley Picou and Coretta Mingo, St. Louis’ Paige Gauthier, Lacassine’s Davonna Pollard, Jennings’ Carlie Pierce and Jaslyn Bradley, Richwood’s Da Kena Potter and Patterson’s Daija Hartman.
The girl’s game will tip off at 2 p.m. followed by the 3-point and slam dunk contest. The boy’s game is slated for 4 o’clock.
Admission for the event is $6.
