American flag stolen from Ross Head Start

CROWLEY - When Ross Head Start Site Supervisor Kathy Langlinais arrived at work Thursday morning she had a small Veterans Day ceremony planned for her students.
“We were going to bring everyone to the front of the school for the Pledge of Allegiance and to sing ‘My Country Tis of Thee’, she said. “But then I noticed that the American flag that was on the pole in front of our school was missing.”
Langlinais had just purchased a new flag for the school this week so that it would be in place for Veterans Day. However, the staff at the school wouldn’t let a thief spoil their plans.
“We brought some flags out from the classrooms and used those for our ceremony,” she said.
Langlinais was dumbfounded as to why someone would steal an American Flag.
“That’s pretty bad when someone would resort to stealing a flag from a school,” she said.
She still held out hope that the person who took it would eventually do the right thing.
“I’m hoping that the person who took it has a conscience,” added Langlinais. “It would be nice to come in tomorrow morning and have it back up on the pole.”
