Amite Council to hold meeting Tuesday, January 6
The Amite Town Council will hold it's first regular meeting of 2009 on Tuesday, January 6. The council held a meeting Monday, December 29 to set the agenda for the pending meeting.
The agenda was set as follows:
Mayor Reggie Goldsby - gasoline bids; introduction of resolution; introduction of amendment to code of ordinances regarding the rent rate for the Amite Community Center.
Councilman Mark Vining - Chamber of Commerce; police and fire matters; burned down houses in Amite; debris ordinance.
Councilman Walter Daniels - discuss ordinance for mobile homes; drainage; new businesses.
Councilman Jonathan Foster - traffic; police cameras.
Councilwoman Rose Sumrall - thanks to town workers for debris clean up; Hardy Street canal; more permanent concession stand for soccer field.
Councilman Buddy Till was not present at the meeting so at that time the council recognized Neil Currier who will be sworn in later today.
Councilman Neil Currier - beer and liquor permits.
