Amite Town Councilmen set agenda for November 4 meeting
The council members of Amite Town Council met Monday, October 20 to set the agenda for the November 4th meeting. There was discussion as to wether the meeting should be moved to another date due to the fact that it falls on election day and the Tuesday following is Veteran's Day. It was decided that the meeting will be held on it's scheduled date but the location will be moved to the Amite Community Center.
The agendas set are as follows:
Councilman Mark Vining - Bay Street (the condition of the area); an update on the community water tower; a merge lane on Highway 16 from Interstate 55; replacing sidewalk on West Olive Street (portions are in bad condition and according to Vining it is a highly used sidewalk); update on the downtown striping; police and fire matters and the Amite Chamber of Commerce.
Councilman Walter Daniels - Factory Street water well/pump; sidewalks in all areas and annexation.
Councilman Jonathan Foster - drainage around Little Bethel Baptist Church; police cameras; Grove Subdivision; West Palmetto Street.
