Ange, Prevost united in April 19 Nuptial Mass
LAKE CHARLES - Mary Elizabeth Ange and Joshua Paul Prevost, both of Lake Charles, were joined in holy matrimony on the evening of Friday, April 19, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Lake Charles. Rev. Alan Trouille officiated the 7 p.m. Nuptial Mass.
The bride is the daughter of Lisa and Christopher George Ange Sr. of Lake Charles. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Ann and Mr. Joseph “Spike” Borel of Lake Charles, and the late Ernest E. “Red” Kohnke Jr.; and Mrs. Barbara and Mr. Sam Ange Sr., also of Lake Charles.
Mary Elizabeth is a 2007 graduate of St. Louis Catholic High School and a 2011 graduate of McNeese State University. She is presently employed as a Registered Nurse at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital.
The groom is the son of Mrs. Maxine and Mr. Charles Prevost of Rayne. He is the grandson of the late Mrs. Vernice and Mr. Paul Prevost of Rayne, and Mrs. Therese and Mr. Agnus Broussard Jr. of Lafayette.
Joshua graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2007 before attending McNeese State University, from which he graduated in 2012. He is currently employed as a marine biologist with the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.
Escorted down the aisle by her father, Mary Elizabeth was gorgeous in a one-shoulder, full length gown with a classic A-line silhouette. The fitted bodice featured a dropped waistline and was romantically embellished with embroidery, crystals, bugle, seed and glass beads and sequins. The full skirt boasted caught-up accents, detailed with royal embellishments that cascaded into a bubble hem chapel train.
In keeping with tradition, the bride incorporated the usual “good luck” items into her wedding attire. A piece of her mother’s wedding dress was “something old” and her own wedding dress was “something new.” Her veil, on loan from her sister, was “something borrowed,” and her shoes were “something blue.”
The bride’s sisters, Megan Ange and Michaella Ange Cormier, served as maid and matron of honor, respectively.
Amy Dupre, sister of the groom, and Danielle Fruge and Kacie Franklin, friends of the bride, served as bridesmaids.
Kyndal Kohnke, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.
The best man was Austin Bourgeois, friend of the groom.
Standing as groomsmen were Christopher Ange, brother of the bride, Ben Dupre, brother-in-law of the groom, and Robert Bennett and Brodie Savoie, friends of the groom.
Selected Scriptures were read by Denise Ange, godmother of the bride, and Anette Broussard, godmother of the groom.
Offertory gifts were presented by Tammy Kohnke, aunt of the bride, and Paulette Leger, godmother of the groom.
Following the wedding, a reception was held at the Historic Cash and Carry Building.
After a wedding trip to Montego Bay, Jamaica, the couple will reside in Lake Charles.
