Rayne—Funeral services for Anna Mae Cormier Doucet, 77, of Rayne will be held on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Deacon Tommy Adams will officiate. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2, Rayne.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 8:00 A.M. until service time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Doucet passed away on Friday, September 07, 2012 in a Rayne care facility.
Born in Rayne, Mrs. Doucet was a resident of Mowata for 52 years prior to recently relocating back to Rayne. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Mowata for many years.
Mrs. Doucet enjoyed gardening, sewing, and cooking for her friends and family. Her greatest joy in life was caring for and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her husband of almost 58 years, Robert Doucet of Rayne; daughters, Charlene LaSalle and husband, Donald of Kaplan, and Monica Boone and husband, Doug of Church Point; sons, Donald Doucet, Sr. and wife, Jeanette of Rayne, and Johnny Doucet and wife, Becky of Church Point; sisters, Shirley Douga of Rayne, and Louise Trahan and husband, Glen of Duson; brothers, Norris Cormier and wife, Louise of Rayne, Aaron Cormier and wife, Norma of Cankton, Travis Cormier and wife, Linda of Rayne, and Raymond Cormier and wife, Lula of Rayne; grandchildren, Christina Fontenot and husband, Charles “Pookie” of Jennings, Donald Doucet, Jr. and wife, Mandy of Mire, Lisa St. Julian of Rayne, Nicolle St. Julian of Rayne, Lance Broussard and wife, Melba of Kaplan, Nicholas LaSalle of Kaplan, Clayton LaSalle and wife, Heather of Gueydan, Danielle Doucet of Crowley, Kimberly Habetz and husband, Hilary of Church Point, Kristi Barron and husband, Seth of Opelousas, Katie Fontenot of Church Point, Elizabeth Matte and husband, Anthony of Church Point, Brittany Boone and fiancé, Nicholas Phillips of Sunset, and Dacey Boone of Church Point; great-grandchildren, Harley Doucet of Jennings, Bryce Fontenot of Jennings, Garrick Fontenot of Jennings, Jordan Matthews of Kaplan, Chase Broussard of Kaplan, Donald “T-Jun” Doucet, III of Mire, Garrett LaSalle of Kaplan, Tyler LaSalle of Kaplan, Taylor LaSalle of Gueydan, Zachary LaSalle of Gueydan, Ashton LaSalle of Gueydan, Kaylyn Barron of Opelousas, Jace Barron of Opelousas, Drake Barron of Opelousas, Tommie Barron of Opelousas, Jatie Barron of Church Point, Kason Barron of Church Point, Jackson Noah Habetz of Church Point, Connor Matte of Church Point, and Hollie Phillips of Sunset; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceding Mrs. Doucet in death were her parents, Arvelien and Ida Lavergne Cormier; sisters, Mary Soileau and Earlene Richard; grandchildren, Crystal Doucet and Kourtney Boone; great-grandchild, Angel Doucet; and brothers-in-law, Joseph “Snook” Soileau and Willie Richard.
Serving as pallbearers are Donald Ray Doucet, Jr., Nicholas LaSalle, Clayton LaSalle, Clifford Cormier, Calvin Soileau, and Anthony Matte.
