Armed robbery, burglary suspect arrested
Crowley Police have completed an investigation into the September 27, 2009 armed robbery of Murphy USA gas station located on Oddfellows Road. This case has also led to the closing of a business burglary, which occurred on the same date.
“Our investigators have been working extremely hard to close out the armed robbery case. During this investigation, it was our belief that the armed robbery and the burglary may have been tied together”, stated Chief K.P. Gibson. “Evidence secured during the investigation led authorities to identifying the suspect in the armed robbery.”
Once the identity of the assailant was confirmed, detectives issued an arrest warrant for the suspect. He was arrested early Sunday morning in Lafayette without incident. He was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center and transferred to Crowley.
“During the questioning of the suspect, detectives were able to confirm that the same suspect was also responsible for a business burglary on South Parkerson Ave on the same date,” stated Chief Gibson.
The suspect has been identified as Kade Mier, 27, of Crowley. Mier has been charged with 1 count of armed robbery and 1 count of burglary. He has been booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.
“I would like to express my gratitude to our patrol officers and investigators for their relentless work on these cases as well as the job that they do everyday for our community,” added Chief Gibson.
