Artists Duson, Louviere enjoy gala opening
CROWLEY – Saturday, Sept. 7, The Gallery opened its doors to an anxious public waiting to see the works of Virginia Duson and Jackie Louviere.
The two artists combined to showcase 35 works that featured portraits, flowers and other scenery.
The September showcase artists enjoyed a wine and cheese gala, sponsored by the Crowley Art Association, on Saturday evening, and the art will continue to hang at The Gallery, located at 222 N. Parkerson Ave. in Crowley, throughout the month.
Saturday, however, those who attended had the unique opportunity to talk to both artists about their works and congratulate them on the show. And, many took advantage of the chance. Family, friends and interested onlookers were among those on hand for the 6-8 p.m. special gala showing.
Local art lovers are encouraged to enjoy the show during The Gallery’s normal business hours, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mondays through Fridays. Some of the pieces are also for sale to those looking to add beautiful works to their art collections. And while many may have noticed some of the pieces hanging in The Gallery’s display windows over the past few weeks, it is impossible to see them all without walking and enjoying them up-close and personal.
