'Atlantis Gets Funky' at 2012 Mardi Gras Ball
The Krewe of Atlantis held its 16th annual ball and pageant at 8 p.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Lafayette.
The theme of the ball was “Atlantis Gets Funky!”
Reigning over the festivities was Queen Hera XV, Gina Brasseaux-Credeur. Gina is married to Robert Credeur, and is the mother of Garethe Declan Credeur. She is a graduate of Carencro High School and LSU at Eunice. She is employed by the Stafford Healthcare Clinics as a Radiographer.
Gina is a licensed agent for Primerica Financial Services, Member of the American and Louisiana Societies of Radiologic Technologists. She is a member of the Krewe of Atlantis, currently serving on the board of directors as a member at large and was the Ball Mistress for the 2010 Mardi Gras ball.
Her gown was a royal blue strapless ball gown featuring a unique bead embellishment swarming the bodice which flowed into a ballerina-styled skirt derived from taffeta with a floor-sweeping hemline. She was escorted by her husband, Robert.
Serving as Royal Maids were:
Sherri Landry was The Foxy Lady from New Orleans. Sherri is married to Kyle Landry and is the mother of Beau Landry and Casey Landry. She is a graduate of Acadiana High School and is the owner/stylist of Tres Joli Salon in Scott.
Sherri is a member of Krewe of Atlantis, Scott Business Association and was a sponsor for Cuts for the Cure-fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Her attire for the evening was a teal ball gown with a sweetheart neckline, ruched bodice and a gathering at the hip. The gathering was accented with a crystal pin. Her escort was her husband, Kyle.
Kristi Lacaze was The Foxy Lady from Las Vegas. Kristi is married to Richard Lacaze and is the mother of Ashley Lacaze and Laney Lacaze. She is a graduate of Lafayette High School and is employed at Moulis Mechanical.
Kristi is a member of the Krewe of Atlantis, Krewe of Bonaparte, Scott Business Association. She was Queen Tee Soeur Chaud I for the Krewe de Red Hot Scott.
She wore a halter-style gown of red satin with a pleated chiffon overlay. The dress was accented with crystal on the strap and at the bodice. Her escort was her husband, Richard.
Donna Lanclos was The Foxy Lady from Chicago. Donna is married to Russell Lanclos and is the mother of Matthew Lanclos married to Victoria Lanclos, Jacob Hooper, Sandy Kilgore married to Glenn, Randy Lanclos married to Jeanne and Russell Lanclos married to Amanda. She is grandmother to Logan Lanclos, Collin Lanclos, Elyjah Brignac, Katie Kilgore and Brandon Kimbrough. She is a graduate of University of Southwestern Louisiana (ULL) and is employed by the Lafayette Parish School Board.
Donna is a member of the Krewe of Atlantis and has served it board of directors as past President and member at large. She was Queen Hera XIII in 2010 and Royal Maid in 2007 and 2008. Donna is a member of the Speech Pathologists and Audiologists in Louisiana Schools and the Lafayette Parish Master Gardeners.
Her dress was an empire-style gown of deep purple satin with a chiffon overlay. Beading and jewels adorned the neckline and waist. Her escort was her husband, Russell.
Becky Brasseaux was The Foxy Lady from Atlanta. She is married to Elus Brasseaux, Jr. and is the mother to Gina Brasseaux-Credeur married to Robert and Ivy Brasseaux. She is grandmother to Garethe Declan Credeur. Becky is a graduate of Acadiana High School and is employed by St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in Duson.
She is a member of the Krewe of Atlantis – serving on the board as past President, Treasurer and Member at Large. She was Queen Hera XI in 2008. Royal Maid in 2004, 2005 and 2010. She was Ball Mistress in 2006. At St. Theresa’s she is a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and Ladies Altar Society.
Becky wore a burgundy colored ball gown with embellished an applique jeweled neckline and completed with an a-line skirt. She was escorted by her husband, Elus.
Serving as Ball Mistresses were Cindy LeBlanc and Gayle Boudreaux.
Mistress of Ceremony for the evening was Darla Montgomery, evening news anchor for KLFY-TV 10 in Lafayette.
