August wedding set for Melanson, Jones
RAYNE - Courtney Nickel Melanson and Kyle Alexander Jones, both of Crowley, have announced their engagement and commitment to be wed on the evening of Saturday, August 3, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne. Father Kendal Faulk will officiate the 6:30 p.m. nuptials.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Michael Melanson of Crowley. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lloyd Nickel of Crowley and the late Mr. Lloyd Nickel, and the late Mr. and Mrs. G. J. Melanson of Baton Rouge.
Courtney graduated from Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in 2008 before attending Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology in 2012.
She is presently employed as an algebra I teacher at Notre Dame High School.
The prospective groom is the son of Ms. Charlotte Jones of Lafayette and Mayor Greg Jones of Crowley. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Philip A. Carey of Vivian, Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Crowell Jr. of Sulphur and Mrs. Donald Jones of Crowley and the late Mr. Donald Jones.
Kyle is a 2006 graduate of Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish and a 2011 graduate of Louisiana State University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He is currently a post-graduate student at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The couple plans to reside in Crowley following their marriage.
