Bama’s back!

For years folks in Tuscaloosa have been craving for someone to come in and embrace and understand what Alabama Football means to Tide Fans. It’s still early yet but Tide Fans have to be happy with the progress that Nick Saban has made in less than two years.

The Alabama Crimson Tide are the #1 ranked team in the nation and they are the only club right now that can say that they actually control their own destiny. Simply put if Alabama wins out they will without question be ranked #1 in all polls and win a trip to Miami to play for the National Title.

And that means bad news for the rest of the nation! Nick Saban has proven before that once he gets the ground work laid down for his programs he then kicks it up a notch and lands the best players in the country to play for him.

And let’s remember that the majority of these players on the Tides Roster are those that were signed by Mike Shula meaning that when Saban’s Recruits start to kick in he will and has before sent an awful lot of guys to play in the NFL.

Is Alabama ready for a title run? I am not sure but I can tell you one thing for sure. If this club goes undefeated than there is not another team in the land that can brag or boast about what they have done over what Alabama will have accomplished.

The Tide has already crushed the 9th ranked team in the nation in a blowout win over Clemson, the beat the 3rd rank Georgia Bulldogs at their own house and led 31-0, will take on a very good 15th ranked LSU Team in Baton Rouge and could possibly face a Florida Team in the SEC Title Game that could be ranked as high as #2 in early December.

So with that said love him or hate him he is a master recruiter and a master program builder. And with an undefeated season he will more than likely become College Football first and only five million dollar man!

Caution though there is a lot of football left to be played!

The Big Chief’s Top 10

Alabama – If Alabama is really #1, they will prove it by beating an inspired LSU Team this week in Death Valley. Last week beat Arkansas State 35-0 / this week @ LSU.

Penn State – The Lions are a solid team that is gaining more respect each week because of their discipline style of play. Three more wins and their in! Last week off State / this week @ Iowa.

Florida – the Gators are arguably the best team in football right now. The Gators embarrassed Georgia 49-10 and they can do the same to anyone else they play. If they win out they will be in Miami. Last week beat Georgia 49-10 / this week @ Vanderbilt

Texas Tech – The Red Raiders earned a lot of respect last week with a thrilling win over Texas. Now they must prove they can play at a high level three weeks in a row. Up next Oklahoma State then a trip to Norman to take on the Sooners. Last week beat Texas 39-33 / this week vs Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma – The Sooners are still in good shape and if they run the table! If OU beats Texas Tech and Oklahoma State they could be in a battle with Florida to see which one loss team plays for the national title. Last week beat Nebraska 62-28 / this week vs Texas A&M.

Texas – The Longhorns ran out of gas in Lubbock and now need some help to get in the title game. Oh well stranger things have happened before. All Texas can do is win out and hope that Oklahoma and Oklahoma State give them a little help along the way. Last week lost to Texas Tech 39-33 / this week vs Baylor

Oklahoma State – I said two weeks ago that the Cowboys were still in great shape with one loss. Now they must beat Tech and Oklahoma to have a shot at the title. Last week beat Iowa State 59-17 / this week @ Texas Tech

USC – The Trojans will need some teams to lose to get to Miami but they are the only team in the nation that has the West Coast Media on their side and that could help! Last week beat Washington 56-0 / this week vs California.

TCU – The Horned Frogs are a good team and TCU has a good program. There is no way I was going to rank Utah or Boise State above this club. They run the ball well and they stop the run. This is not a bad team. Last week beat UNLV 44-14 / this week @ Utah

Georgia – The Bulldogs got embarrassed last week but look at who they played. Utah and Boise State will have to wait for another club to lose before they move up in my poll. Last week lost to Florida 49-10 / this week at Kentucky.
