Beachfront wedding ceremony unites couple

A beachfront wedding ceremony on South Padre Island, Texas united Amiriz Munoz and Justin Robert Thibodeaux, both of San Antonio, Texas, in marriage. The five-thirty afternoon ceremony took place on Saturday, April 14, 2012.

The bride is the daughter of Marco and Maria Munoz of Fredericksburg, Texas. Her grandparents are the late Ofelia and Noe De La Cruz and Miguel and Carmen Munoz, all from Reynosa, Mexico. She is a 2002 graduate of Fredericksburg Christina School and is currently pursuing an accounting degree at the University of Texas at San Antonio.

The groom, formerly of Mire, is the son of Bobby (Robert) Thibodeaux and Cheryl Blanchard Thibodeaux of Rayne. His grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Thibodeaux of Rayne, Sybil Blanchard of Mire and the late Houston Blanchard. A 2001 graduate of Rayne High School, he served his country as a member of the United States Air Force from March of 2003 until June of 2008. He is presently employed by Baker Hughes in Broussard.

Escorted by her father, the bride wore a diamond white V-maid trumpet-style wedding gown by Alfred Angelo featuring a sweetheart neckline noted with a diamond broach to the center. The strapless creation was styled with a chiffon bow to the back highlighted with a rhinestone star fishing center. Her headpiece was a unique diamond feathered flower design, and she carried a gathered bouquet of stargazer and calla lilies.

Traditional items selected by the bride for her wedding day included her great-aunt’s hand-embroidered handkerchief as something old, a feathered flower head piece was something new, flower diamond earrings borrowed from her mother, and her garter was something blue.

Serving the bride as maid of honor was her best friend and cousin, Paola Munoz.

Bridesmaids were Pamela Fleurs, cousin of the bride; Esty Munoz, sister of the bride; and Yasmin Perez, Vanessa Diaz, Cari Carvile, Tandis Lamaire and Joyce Harms, friends of the bride.

Bridal attendants wore street-length dresses of a watermelon tone featuring a sweetheart neckline and a floral design at the torso. Each carried a single calla lily wrapped with a long satin ribbon.

Serving as flower girl was Eva Belle Thibodeaux, the couple’s daughter. She wore a multi-colored floral dress with a large flower and a white lace umbrella she held while walking down the aisle in the hand of her grandmother, Cheryl Thibodeaux.

Attending the groom as best man was his best friend, Shane Turner.

Groomsmen were Jared Thibodeaux, Jake Thibodeaux and Joshua Thibodeaux, brothers of the groom; Joe Guidry and Jeremy Webb, friends of the groom; Bobby Thibodeaux, father of the groom; and Marco Munoz, brother of the bride.

Male attendants wore long-sleeve linen shirts in a pistachio tone over white or brown linen slacks. Each was presented a calla lily boutonniere.

Serving as ringbearer was Sebastian Dominic, son of the bride and step-son of the groom. He wore a long-sleeve, all-white linen suit.

For her daughter’s wedding, the bride’s mother selected a floor-length dress of coral chiffon, while the groom’s mother wore a dress of pistachio chiffon topped with a short brown wrap.

Following the beach wedding ceremony, a reception was enjoyed at the Pearl Station Hotel inside the Blue Marlin Ballroom on South Padre Island, Texas. The beach theme was carried in the reception area, complete with a beige and lace decor. Reception tables were topped with beige satin tablecloths and lace overlay. The area was also noted with fresh calla lilies, seashells and silver plates. Chairs were covered with beige satin covers.

Among the refreshments provided for guests was the bride’s cake, a seashell-theme, three-tier fondant confection accented with edible pearls and seashells and topped with a large initial rhinestone topper.

The groom’s cake was created in the shape of a shirt with collar. The banana-chocolate marble cake mirrowed a black Ralph Lauren polo collared shirt with a beige horse emblem created in fondant.

Guests attended the wedding from Rayne, Church Point, Mire, and numerous points of Texas and Mexico.

Following a wedding trip to Isla Mujeres, where they enjoyed Mexico in the summertime, the couple is now residing in San Antonio, Texas.
