Belinda Smith Hebert
CROWLEY – A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary, for Belinda Smith Hebert, 50, who died Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at her residence in Crowley surrounded by her family and friends.
Fr. Matthew Higginbotham will officiate for the services. The family requests visiting hours to be held Friday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Saturday from 8 a.m. to the time of service. The Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in North Hanks Cemetery.
Belinda was born March 26, 1962 in Crowley. She was a 1981 graduate of Crowley High School. She was a lifelong member of Immaculate Heart of Mary where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. Belinda was the athletic director and a teacher’s aide at Redemptorist Catholic School for 18 years. She loved coaching and teaching children and also volunteered at the Crowley Recreation Department for many years. She enjoyed the outdoors and family gatherings and good Cajun music.
She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Fern Hebert; one son, Ryan Hebert and his wife Mackenzie of Crowley; one daughter, Courtney Paige Hebert of Crowley; her parents Sherman and Deanna Smith Sr. of Crowley; one brother, Sherman Smith Jr. and his wife Sharon of Crowley; maternal grandfather, Albertis Hoffpauir; godchildren, Sadie Marceaux of Crowley, and Madison Meche of Iota; her mother-in-law, Gladys Hebert of Kaplan; and many loving nieces and nephews and her grand-dog, Gus.
Mrs. Hebert is preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Winnie Blanchard, and her paternal grandparents, Charlie and Vivian Smith.
