Bengals in Series championship game

The field dried out Wednesday and bats of the LSU at Eunice Bengals remained hot, carrying them to Thursday night's championship game in the NJCAA Division II World Series.

The Bengals, ranked second nationally, defeated top-ranked Lenoir 13-3 in a game called in the sixth inning under the 10-run mercy rule.

The game was suspended Tuesday night in the bottom of the fourth inning due to wet grounds with LSUE in the lead.

The Bengals now wait for the winner of the Lenoir-Monroe game Wednesday night and can win the national championship for the second time in three years either Thursday night or Friday night if necessary.
