Betty Jane Arceneaux Thibodeaux
Rayne—A Mass of Christian Burial for Betty Jane Arceneaux Thibodeaux, 77, of Mire will be celebrated on Monday, May 6, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rayne. Monsignor Jeff DeBlanc will serve as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery #2. Serving as readers are Glenda Richard and Lerlene Broussard. Presenting the gifts are Vern Thibodeaux and Janice Benoit.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 6:30 P.M. Visitation will continue on Monday from 8:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
Mrs. Thibodeaux passed away on Saturday, may 4, 2013 at 7:45 A.M. in her Mire home.
A native of and lifelong resident of Acadia Parish, Mrs. Thibodeaux was Valedictorian and Treasurer of Rayne High School Class of 1953. She worked for the U.S. Farm Service Agency in Crowley for forty-five and one-half years. Prior to that, Mrs. Thibodeaux worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Lake Charles for a year, and for KVOL Radio Station in Lafayette for two years.
Mrs. Thibodeaux was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt whose greatest joy was caring for her family. Special thanks are extended to her nephew, Johnny Boullion, and nieces, Doretta Gaspard, Barbara Dupuis, and Glenda Richard.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, Curliss Thibodeaux; son, Mitchell Thibodeaux and wife, Vicki of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Stella Hall and husband, Bruce of Pearland, TX; stepson, Donald Thibodeaux and wife, Vern of Ennis, MT; stepdaughter, Janice Benoit and husband, Curley of Mire; grandchildren; Heather Hall and Tanner Hall; step-grandchildren, Ricky Guidry, Lori Forestier, Robbie Benoit, Sheila Benoit, Shain Hall, Dan Arnesano, and Luca Arnesano; numerous step-great-grandchildren and step-great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Thibodeaux is preceded in death by her parents, Davis Arceneaux and Philomene Broussard Arceneaux; sisters, Helen Arceneaux Dupuis and Bertha Arceneaux Boullion; and brother, Ruby Arceneaux.
Serving as pallbearers are Bruce Hall, Ricky Guidry, Mitchell Thibodeaux, Scotty Boullion, Robby Benoit, and Danny Forestier. Named as honorary pallbearers are Donald Thibodeaux, Curley Benoit, Johnny Boullion, Tanner Hall, Josh Benoit, Jordan Benoit, Daniele Arnesano, Luca Arnesano, and Cody Stevens.
