Borill family celebrates 50th wedding anniversary
Fifty years ago, on June 21, 1958, Reese and Jenny Borill said their wedding vows at St. Michael’s Church in Crowley.
Mrs. Borill is the former Jenny Stutes, daughter of Alfred and Naomi Magnon and is currently a homemaker. Mr. Borill is the son of Numa and Mamie Borill of Crowley. He is employed as a warehouse manager.
Mr. and Mrs. Borill are the parents of five grown children, Reese Borill, Sr. of Lyons Point, Albert Borill of Crowley, Elizabeth B. Sonnier of Crowley, Linda B. Guillory of Crowley and Anthony Borill of Estherwood.
They are the proud grandparents of 14 including, Desiree’ Matthew of Lyons Point, Hailey Borill of Duson, Eryn Borill of Lyons Point, Michael Borill of Crowley, Tomeka Vincent of Morse, Erica Borill of Midland, Seth Borill of Crowley, Darren Gauthreaux of Crowley, Brett Gauthreaux of Morse, Eric Sonnier of Crowley, Lance Guillory of Crowley and Tyler, Blake and Clay Borill of Estherwood. The Borills are also the great-grandparents of 16 children.
The couple, joined by friends and family, gathered on June 21, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the G &H Seed Kitchen in Crowley to commemorate this special occasion.
A four-tier layered cake with roses and a 50th anniversary topper served as the focal point of the celebration.
Seventy guests attended, traveling from Midland, Morse, Estherwood, Duson, Lyons Point and Baton Rouge.
