A Ville Platte man is facing 55 counts of forgery.

Captain Keith Dupre, detective for the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office, said Detective Stanley Washington began investigating a total of 55 forgeries written two stores in Mamou, one in Turkey Creek and one in Vidrine.

His investigation led him to Boyd Lane Mills, 41, 1416 Redlick Road, Ville Platte, who was charged August 25, with 55 counts of forgery. Bond was set at $15,000. Mills was already incarcerated on theft charges, according to Dupre. He said Mills also has warrants for his arrest from Lafayette.
