Breaux Bridge police officers rescue man from submerged vehicle

BBPD TO THE RESCUE — According to a statement released by the Breaux Bridge Police Department, officers Richard Arceneaux and John Dauphine responded to a single-vehicle traffic crash on I-10 near mile marker 111. At approximately 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, Andrew Bond of Slidell was traveling east on I-10 when he drove off the roadway and crashed his Hummer SUV into a pond located just off the interstate. First to arrive at the scene was Arceneaux, who with the help of Dauphine was able to break into the vehicle and pull the driver to safety. The case of the crash is still under investigation.
