Brignac is new district attorney, takes oath Monday

Evangeline Parish has a new district attorney, Trent Brignac, who was sworn into office Monday, January 12, at 10 a.m. in 13th Judicial District Judge John Larry Vidrine’s courtroom.

Brignac thanked his family and friends for their support before taking his oath. A special thanks went to his family. An emotional Brignac said he had made their lives difficult during the last two years as he campaigned for office. He thanked them for their support.

He also introduced his new assistant district attorneys and members of the staff to the audience. He said these familiar faces at the district attorney’s office will continue to work hard for the public.

Brignac promised his door would be open to the public. He encouraged everyone to visit his office when they need his assistance.

After the oath of office was given to Brignac and the three new assistant district attorneys, everyone was welcome to enjoy refreshments.
