Brittany Fae Oliver
JENNINGS – It’s with great sadness that the family of Brittany Fae Oliver, 21, of Mermentau, announces her passing on Friday afternoon at the Jennings American Legion Hospital. A mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mermentau on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 10 a.m. with Father Donald Pousson officiating. The Oliver family request visitation be observed at Matthews & Son Funeral Home in Jennings on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. - 9 p.m. and resume on Wednesday at 8 a.m. until the time of her services. A rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. Brittany will be laid to rest in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley following her services.
Brittany Fae was born in Crowley to Rodney and Carlotta Gautreaux Oliver on February 17, 1989. She was a bartender at Stebb’s Lounge in Welsh. Brittany was a wonderful, fun loving young lady who was taken from this earth for too soon. She always greeted everyone with a smile and made you feel like a friend at heart. She enjoyed riding around in her car listening to music. Brittany also had a musical talent and could play the flute like music from Heaven. She had a dog named “Rosco” which was her pride and joy. Brittany was dearly loved by so many friends and family and will be greatly missed.
Leaving behind to cherish her memories are her parents, Rodney and Carlotta G. Oliver; brother, Rodney Oliver Jr.; grandmother, Virginia G. Oliver Hebert all of Mermentau; great grandparents, Carl and Jane Sonnier of Crowley; godfather, Blaine Oliver of Mermentau; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Brittany now rests in heaven with her maternal grandparents, Robert and Margie Gautreaux; paternal grandfather, Theo Oliver; great paternal grandparents, Chester and Mercedes Guidry; great maternal grandfather, Norris Gautreaux; godmother, Melissa Gautreaux; cousin, Leighanne Mangrum; uncle,Ted Oliver III; and godchild, Nathan LeJeune;
