Calice Constantin, Jr.
Rayne—A Memorial Mass for Mr. Calice Constantin, Jr., 66, will be celebrated on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel, Rayne. Inurnment will follow in Abshire Cemetery, Kaplan.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 8:00 A.M. until service time in Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, with a rosary being recited at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home.
Mr. Constantin passed away on Friday, June 15, 2012 at 3:11 A.M., surrounded by his family, in his Indian Bayou residence.
A native and lifelong resident of Indian Bayou, Mr. Constantin was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He served in the Louisiana Army National Guard during the Vietnam Conflict. Mr. Constantin was a former member of the Rayne Jaycees, having served as its president in 1976.
Mr. Constantin was a former employee of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office, and had worked for many years as a farmer, growing rice, soybeans, and crawfish. He enjoyed listening to French music and spending time with his friends and family.
Survivors include his wife of over 45 years, Jo Ann Kibodeaux Constantin of Indian Bayou; sons, Shane Constantin and companion, Lisa Stewart, Scott Constantin, and Spence Constantin and companion, Angelina Breedlove, all of Indian Bayou; sisters, Anna Lou Thibodeaux of Wagemon, and Gloria Thibodeaux and husband, Donald of Rayne; brothers, James Constantin and wife, Evelyn of Indian Bayou, Howar Constantin and wife, Velma of Abbeville, and Mike Constantin of Indian Bayou; grandchildren, Jenee, Shanena, Katie, Joey, Lela, Ava, Misty, and Lori; great-grandchildren, Savannah, Jala, Shane, Jullien, Kaden, Brody, Haven, Paslie, Ayden, and Aubrey; sister-in-law, Marie Mouton and husband, Harry of New Iberia; brother-in-law, John Kibodeaux, Sr. and wife, Janelle of Rayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Proceeding Mr. Constantin in death were his parents, Calice Constantin, Sr. and Leah Trahan Constantin; sisters, Mary Wanda Cutrer and husband, Robert, and Vivian Matt and husband, John; infant brother, Edward Constantin; niece, Mitzi Lynn Thibodeaux; and mother-and-father-in-law, Ina and Joseph Kibodeaux.
