Camille Bernard marries Benjamin Moody

CROWLEY - Camille Mary Bernard and Benjamin Armstrong Moody were united in the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony during an evening ceremony on Friday, May 24, at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church in Crowley. The Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Reverend Joseph Breaux, joined by Reverend Peter Rogers, SJ, Reverend Michael Russo and Reverend Randall Moreau.

Camille is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles A. Bernard III. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Bernard Jr., Mrs. Bernard C. Thibeaux Sr. and the late Mr. Bernard C. Thibeaux Sr., all of Lafayette.

The bride is a graduate of St. Thomas More High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in education. Camille is currently employed by the Lafayette Parish School Board.

Ben is the son of Mr. Richard Kevin Moody and Mrs. Jeanne Franques Levy. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Charles Franques III of Church Point and Mr. and Mrs. B.I. Moody III of Crowley.

The groom is a graduate of St. Thomas More High School and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting. He is currently employed as an Associate of South Oak Capital Partners in Lafayette.

Escorted by her father, Camille wore a beautiful ivory Alençon lace gown accented with a sweetheart neckline and a fit-and-flair silhouette that cascaded into a semi-cathedral train.

Serving as matron of honor was Sarah Bernard Sturlese, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Katherine Moody McCormick and Caroline Moody Soileau, sisters of the groom; Mollie Thibeaux Feerick, cousin of the bride; and Ellen Ortego Barousse, Emily Claire Cornay, Chelsie Lynn Guidry, Virginia Ann Landry, Yvonne Goodyear Bienvenu and Mary Kathryn Bourque, all friends of the bride.

Serving as best man was Richard Kevin Moody II, brother of the groom. The groomsmen were Robert Thomas Bernard and Patrick Joseph Bernard, brothers of the bride; John William Thomson, step-brother of the groom; John Douglas Hundley, cousin of the groom; and Thomas Richardson Saloom, Stewart Lyn Stover III, Mark-Allen Goodyear Jr., Byron Nicholas Cart and James Hunter Sturlese, all friends of the groom.

Serving as ushers were Todd St. Cyr McCormick and Kenneth Gabriel Soileau, brothers-in-law of the groom; Michael George Thomson, step-brother of the groom; Brennan Thomas Higginbotham and James Lowell Landry III, friends of the groom; and Erik Moody Hundley, cousin of the groom.

Andrew Davison McCormick, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer and Lily Michelle Franques, cousin of the groom, served as flower girl.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at The Grand Opera House in Crowley.

After their honeymoon, Camille and Ben will reside in Lafayette.
