Local band student performs

HONOREES - Rayne High band student Nick Arnaud is joined by Captain Brian O. Walden, conductor of the United States Navy Band, following a concert held in Lafayette.

Nick Arnaud, a freshman member of the Rayne High School Marching Band, was among the students performing for the Lafayette Concert Band who was asked to join the United State Navy Band and play “The Washington March” during their recent concert.

The United States Navy Band only performs in this area once every five years. The concert was held Tuesday, Feb. 11, during the band’s 2014 concert held at First Baptist Church in Lafayette.

The Rayne High freshman and Crowley native is the son of Ricci Arnaud and the grandson of Jo-Anne Arnaud and the late Richard Arnaud of Crowley.

Nick has future plans to eventually become a member of the Armed Forces Band.
