Mire Marching Band selected to perform at Branson

Members of the 2013-2014 Mire Elementary Scool Marching Band prepare for their May performance in Branson, Missouri, the first school band from Louisiana to be selected to perform in Branson.

 

Rayne High physics class places first at ULL

AWARDED FIRST PLACE - On March 26, 2014 Mrs. Allyson Romero’s Physics class participated in the University of Lousiana at Lafayette’s Engineering and Technology Expo. Students competed in various engineering competitions such as the Balsa Wood Bridge construction and Mystery Design Competition. Rayne High School placed first in the Mystery Design Competion with team members Zach Toten, Kameron Falcon, and Skyler Choplin. Students also construced a Balsa Wood Bridge that sucessfully held 400 pounds of weight before breaking. DR. SUESS DAY CELEBRATED

DR. Rayne High Band Awarded Sweepstakes

RHS BAND TAKES HOME SWEEPSTAKES - The Rayne High School Band participated in the S.L.B.D.A. District Large Ensemble Festival on Wednesday, March 12, at Angelle Hall on ULL’s campus. Displaying the Sweepstakes trophy the squad won in District 3 scoring (all ones in all categories) are, from left, Allison Dupuis, Meghan Matlock, John Anzalone and Aaron Cutrer. Band members are now preparing for the State Festival slated April 28-May 1 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
