CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2009, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Carlson Joseph “Shoo-Shoo” Thibodeaux, 88, who died Thursday, January 29, 2009, in Crowley.
Deacon Rodless Leleux will celebrate the Mass and committal service at Hanks Cemetery in Morse. Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Friday.
Mr. Thibodeaux was born June 17, 1920, in Morse, to the late Ovey and Claudia Labrie Thibodeaux. He was a lifelong resident of Morse. He was a rice and soybean farmer and raised cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and hosting large family gatherings.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Linas Terro Thibodeaux of Morse; four daughters: Rita Miller and her husband Carol of Sulphur, Susan Gondron and her husband David of Loreauville, Juanita Kibodeaux and her husband Richard of Lake Charles, and Sophronia Moreau and her husband Glen of Pearland, Texas; four sons: Charles Thibodeaux and his wife Dee of Eunice, Ricky Thibodeaux and his wife Elaine of Morse, Marcus Thibodeaux and his wife Lynn of Sulphur, and Oran Thibodeaux and his wife Carol Ann of Sulphur; a brother Hanson Thibodeaux of Roanoke; 23 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Colbert and Alex Thibodeaux; and a sister Bertha Stewart.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas and Collin Miller, Mitchell Fuselier, Stacy Hanks, Kyle Henry, Timothy Thibodeaux, Jordan Soileau, Chad Moreau, and Jeanne Thibodeaux.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
