Carol Broussard Vallot
CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at 10 a.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Carol Broussard Vallot, 86, who died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at American Legion Hospital.
Mrs. Vallot was a native of Lafayette and lifelong resident of Crowley. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Carol was affectionately known as “The Babysitter” of many Crowley children and young people. She and her late husband also owned and operated Square Deal Grocery, Bargain Food Store, Ed’s Steakhouse Restaurant and Vallot’s Dry Cleaners.
Fr. Gary Schexnayder, Pastor of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, will officiate for the Christian burial services. The family requests visiting hours Saturday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Monday from 8 a.m. to service time. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Survivors include two daughters, Betty V. Mitchell of Moss Bluff, Barbara V. Pace and her husband Rich of Katy, Texas; one son, Gene Vallot and his wife Delores of Shreveport; eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Vallot was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Vallot; her parents, Joseph and Elvira Albarado Broussard; two sisters, Yolande Latiolais and Ludy Bates; three brothers, Aby Broussard, Robert Lee Broussard and Harold Broussard; two great-grandchildren, Debra Miller and Phillip Kevin Vallot; son-in-law, James Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Mark Mitchell, Richard Voisinet, Rich Pace, Joey Vallot, Kevin St. Cyr, David Arredondo.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home of Crowley.
