Catholic Daughters Salad and Bingo fund raiser was a big success
The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674 held a meeting June 4, to finalize plans for the Salad and Bingo fund raiser held June 12. Following the opening prayers and Pledge of Allegiance, the meeting was conducted by Regent Mary Jenkins.
Committee reports were eliminated in order to discuss the fund raiser. Various tasks were assigned, and everyone was responsible for bringing a dessert.
On Thursday, June 12, ticket holders arrived early at the Northside Civic Center for the event. Two comedians visited with the attendees before the meal and entertained the crowd while calling the bingo games. Expressions of pleasure were heard from the bingo winners. Numerous door prizes, including many Lagniappe ferns, soothed those who were not bingo winners.
This first annual Salad and Bingo fund raiser was a huge success! Regent Mary Jenkins thanks everyone who participated for their help in making this a successful event. Special thanks were given to Barbara Delafosse, who planned the event. The CDA members and the public thoroughly enjoyed the event.
