Celania Stutes Boudreaux
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at 10 a.m. for Celania Stutes Boudreaux, 96, who died Sunday, March 29, 2009 in
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Interment was in the St. Joseph Cemetery #2, Rayne, with Fr. Clint Trahan, associate pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiating.
Surviving are two sons, Roderick “R.J.” Boudreaux and wife Mary Gail of Opelousas, and Conrad Boudreaux and wife Judy of Rayne; two daughters, Rena Leeper and husband Dick of Crowley, and Joyce Laughlin of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Francis Terro of Sulphur.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ophie Boudreaux; parents, Edgar Francois Stutes and Marie Breaux Stutes; one sister, Elizabeth Stutes Guidry; three brothers, Whitney Stutes, Willie Stutes and Martin Stutes; one son-in-law, H. Curtis Laughlin; and one grandchild, Mark Laughlin.
She was born Friday, July 19, 1912 in Rayne, daughter of the late Francis Stutes and the late Marie Breaux.
A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2009.
Friends were received Monday, March 30, from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m., and Tuesday, March 31, from 8 a.m. until service at Gossen Funeral Home, Inc., Rayne.
