Ceremony in Gardens inites Day and LeBlanc
Sonia Annette Day and Shade Matthew LeBlanc exchanged wedding vows on December 26, 2008, during an outdoor ceremony at Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia. Judge Ed Broussard officiated the afternoon ceremony.
Sonia is the daughter of Stanley Sr. and Diane Day of Denham Springs, LA.
Shade is the son of Ricky and Bonnie LeBlanc of Abbeville. He is the grandson of Lawrence and Earline Clostio and Leona LeBlanc and the late Willard LeBlanc of Abbeville.
Escorted by her son, Sydney Bauer, the bride wore a Bonny-Princess taffeta gown. The halter top and bodice featured a pattern of beading and pleats. The back of the gown had covered buttons that flowed down into a cathedral-length train. She carried a clutched bouquet of white roses.
Matron of Honor was Candy Yglesias, cousin of the bride. She wore a strapless black taffeta tea-length dress and carried a clutched bouquet of white roses and carnations.
Kylie Yglesias, cousin of the bride served in the wedding as the flower girl.
The Best Man for the ceremony was Chris Prejean, friend of the groom.
The Ring Bearer was Brennan Bauer, the son of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Rip Van Winkle’s Bayless Convention Center.
The couple resides in Katy, TX, where the groom is employed with Halliburton as an engineer.
