Charlene Istre, Hunter Peltier wed
Charlene Renee Istre and Hunter James Peltier were united in the sacrament of holy matrimony on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 6 p.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Breaux Bridge. The nuptial mass was officiated by Deacon Butch Hebert.
The bride is the daughter of Deanna Hargrave Istre and the late Vernon Lee Istre of Morse. She is the granddaughter of the late Benjamin and Effie Hargrave and the late Gabriel and Eunice Istre.
Charlene graduated from Midland High School and is employed by LHC Group in Lafayette.
The groom is the son of Clyde Peltier and Doris Trahan Peltier of Breaux Bridge. He is the grandson of the Eula Peltier and the late Irby Peltier of Breaux Bridge and Bernice Trahan and the late Lee Trahan of Lafayette.
Hunter graduated from Breaux Bridge High School and is employed by Slemco in Lafayette.
The bride was escorted by her cousin, Brad Cormier. She wore a taffeta draped strapless A-line gown with beaded lace appliques on the bodice and skirt which flared from the waist into a chapel length train. She carried a hand tied bouquet of orange tulips, fuchsia and cream roses accented with green hyper cum berries, peacock feathers, pearls and satin ribbon.
Serving as maid of honor was Morgan Guidry, godchild of the groom.
Best man was Clyde Peltier, father of the groom.
Ushers were Scott Peltier, uncle of the groom and Brandon Peltier, cousin of the groom.
The flower girl was Gabrielle Peltier, daughter of the bride and groom. Junior bridesmaid was Taylor Trahan, great niece of the bride. Junior groomsman was Cameron Bertrand, cousin of the groom.
Musical selections were by Naomi Broussard and the scripture was read by Misti Guidry, sister of the groom and Casie Fontenot, friend of the bride.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at La Poussiere in Breaux Bridge.
Out of town guests traveled from Lake Charles, Georgia and Texas.
After a wedding cruise, the newlywed couple will reside in Breaux Bridge.
