Charles David Stewart
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009 at Trinity Episcopal Church for Charles David Stewart, Sr., 91, who died at 6:10 a.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2009 at Southwind Nursing Home.
Rev. John Clark, pastor, will celebrate the funeral services and the committal services at the Woodlawn Mausoleum. Visitation may be observed from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Stewart was a World War II veteran who served his country in the U.S. Air Force and a member of the American Legion Post 15. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a retired captain in the Civil Air Patrol. He donated his time at Crowley Christian Care recycling center. He was a devoted husband and family man and loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his three sons; Charles D. Stewart, Jr and wife Maureen of Altus, Okla., James E. Stewart and wife Linda of Crowley and Raymond L. Stewart and wife Patty of Lake Charles; three grandchildren, Angie Zehner, Kim Wilkins and Brent Stewart; seven great grandchildren Samantha, Austin, Alexandria, Matthew, Sylvia, Tyler and Christopher.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Libby Hartman Stewart ; his parents Robert and Mildred Stewart; a brother Ira Stewart; and a sister Mae Dorsey.
