Christian Service Center robbed

At 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, as the staff of the Christian Service Center arrived for work they discovered the place had been burgled as the center was in disarray with items strewn on the floor.

At some point between the time the doors closed Monday and when they arrived Tuesday, two computers, a laptop and a desktop, all the security cameras, paper products, car seats, clothing and cases of food were stolen.

The center feeds at least 80 people each day they are open for free.

“It’s so hateful that someone would do this type of crime,” Abbeville Detective Stan Suire stated. “It’s like robbing a church.”

Detective Suire is the point of contact on the case and is seeking additional information from the public concerning the break-in.

“We are offering a $200 reward for information leading to the arrest of the thieve(s),” Detective Suire added.

If anyone has any information regarding the robbery contact Detective Stan Suire immediately at 652-3011.
