CROWLEY – Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Ducote will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Friends and family are invited to attend.
Viewing begins at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by Catholic services conducted by Father Gary Schexnayder of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church beginning at 1 p.m.
She passed away peacefully at home in her beloved kitchen on May 9, 2009.
A graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Nursing, where she received her R.N. degree, she was a public health nurse and supervisor with the Acadia Parish Health Unit for many years. She also studied nursing at Siene College in Memphis, Tenn., as well as the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas.
Throughout her life, Mrs. Ducote was deeply loved and respected by her family and too many friends and acquaintances to count. There was no one else like her. She will be greatly missed.
Mrs. Ducote was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Dr. G. W. Ducote; her parents, Edward and Eunice Cruse; her sister, Jean Bush; and her brothers, H.A. and Edward Cruse.
Her survivors include her nieces, Pamela Bush and Barbara Reed. Also, Ms. Bush’s husband Michael and their son Zachary and his family and Ms. Reed’s daughter Christi and her family.
The family wishes to thank her caregivers Warren, Lulu and Theresa for their excellent care and help.
