City finishes year in the black
The City of Eunice finished its fiscal year with an operating surplus of $1.02 million, according to the June 30 statement of operation.
The city's fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30.
According to the report, city revenues totaled $15.28 million and expenses totaled $14.26 million.
The report does not account for transfers of funds and other reconciliation which will be done by auditors.
The city's revenue budget anticipated $15.57 million and expenses were estimated at $15.54.
About one-half of the $1.02 million in surplus is accounted for by $500,000 in banked but unspent road improvement funds.
That money will be spent in the fiscal year which began July 1, along with an additional $400,000 from this year's sales tax revenues.
