Clary, Privat honored at cocktail party

A cocktail party honoring engaged couple Scott Privat of Crowley and Alison Clary of Opelousas was held on Friday, April 25 at 8 p.m.

Alison is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Clary, Jr. of Opelousas. Her paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. John Clary, Sr., and maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Dempsey Fuselier, and the late Lou Fuselier.

She is a graduate of Opelousas Catholic High School, and received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in education. She is currently employed as a second grade teacher at Cathedral Carmel, and will begin teaching at St. Michael Elementary next year.

Scott is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Privat of Crowley. His paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Privat, and his maternal grandparents are Mrs. Lucille Daigle and the late Mr. Daniel Deroussel.

He is a 1996 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the Catholic University of America in Washington D.C. and will receive a juris doctorate from Loyola University of Law this May. He plans to practice law in Crowley after the bar exam.

The couple has plans to be married on the evening of May 24 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Grand Coteau.
